The ocean has become a critical issue for the next generation of leaders—and for the institutions and organizations shaping our response.

I grew up watching my grandfather use stories to build public will—to make people care about a world most would never see. Those early experiences shaped everything I believe.

But over two decades working across sectors and coastlines worldwide, I learned the harder lesson: inspiration opens doors, but recovery is built—or it doesn't happen.

My keynotes connect ocean health to what matters most: from understanding the science of what's possible, to navigating the policy and investment landscape, to building the partnerships that turn momentum into measurable progress.

Protection remains essential, but in many places it isn't enough on its own. Defending what remains won't bring back what has been degraded or lost. Real recovery requires restoration at scale: clear targets, credible measurement, aligned incentives, and partnerships built to last.

What I bring my audiences is rare: inspirational storytelling paired with practical frameworks they can apply in their own contexts—whether they're students exploring career paths in ocean work, professionals making decisions that shape outcomes, or institutions building programs and partnerships for the long term.

The science shows that meaningful recovery within a generation is possible if we act with ambition now. My talks help leaders understand what that ambition looks like in practice—and what to do next.
